Rina You - cello
 

Rina You, cellist, was born South Korea. She began her musical studies at a very early age, and late she studied at Daejeon Arts High School.
The desire to complete her studies in Italy led her to Rome: she was admitted to the famous Conservatorio “Santa Cecilia”, in the class taught by Maurizio Gambini, and graduated with the highest honours in September 2008. Subsequently, she attended the prestigious Master Course at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome held by Francesco Strano and Giovanni Sollima, graduating with the highest honors in June 2011. She has also studied with Enrico Dindo at the Académie de Musique “Tibor Varga” in Sion (Switzerland) and under the guidance of Gabriele Geminiani (principal cello of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia Orchestra). Furthermore, at the Conservatory “S. Cecilia” she also graduated in Chamber Music with R. Clemente with the highest honours.

She has performed in various chamber ensembles and orchestras (Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma, Roma Sinfonietta, Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti), collaborating with orchestral conductors like B. Aprea, D. Renzetti, C. Rizzari, E. Morricone and others.

She has performed in chamber ensembles with musicians such as G. Sollima, B. Petrushansky, M. Fiorentini and M. Carbonara. She participated also in important festivals of contemporary music in Italy and Germany playing many compositions in world premiere, as member of Italian ensemble Piccola Accademia degli Specchi.

Rina is professor of Chamber Music at Conservatory "Giuseppe Martucci" of Salerno.
